Postcard from the pumpkin patch
Our first mommy & me school fieldtrip of the year was to Shawn's Pumpkin Patch. Shawn's is a small, urban pop-up pumpkin patch, with just enough attractions to entertain the kiddos for good while. The kids wore t-shirts that we decorated in class last week using stamps and fabric paint.
The kids loved the goats, sheep, bunnies, chickens, alpaca, and llama in the petting zoo area. They were able to not only pet, but also feed the animals, which was a bit hit with the wee ones. I'm pretty sure two year-old me would've been afraid of being in such tight quarters with so many hooved animals, but Lucy wasn't afraid at all. She went right up to the animals and even went in for goat hugs a couple times. :)
The candy and toy machines were also evidently an intriguing attraction to Lucy and Ethan.
Everyone, moms and kiddos alike, loved the train!
Lucy had fun with the pumpkins. She picked up (or tried to pick up) many pumpkins. Some, as you will see below, were "so heavy!" She even got to pick out a little pumpkin to take home.
It's so much fun to be in school with so many good friends this year! And suffice it to say, a great time was had by all. A group of us will also be going back to Underwood Farms later in the month for the Fall Harvest Festival, so you will be seeing more photos of pumpkins and these friendly faces (and more) in a couple weeks.

Lucy,
The Halloween shirt you made is beautiful! Wow, can't believe how much you've grown.
