Christmas - the 2.5 year-old edition
We spent another wonderful Christmas in San Diego. Thanks, Gramma and Grampa for hosting us!
Thanks to Christmas falling on Sunday, and hence, Brian having all of Christmas Eve off, we were able to leave for San Diego on Christmas Eve morning. This made for a much more leisurely, enjoyable Christmas Eve. After breakfast on Saturday, we packed up the car to the brim and made our way down the 405.
it was nice to be able to relax, and we even had time to bake cookies for Santa!
We noshed on snacks throughout the day and had "grown-up" grilled cheese sandwiches with grilled onions, spinach and tomatoes (well, everyone else had tomatoes- blegh) and roasted pepper and sundried tomato soup for dinner. It was perfect! Storytime consisted, of course, with Brian reading The Night Before Christmas.
We ended the evening watching my favorite Christmas movie- Elf, and then we were all ready for Santa to come.
And wouldn't you know, come morning, we found out that Santa did come!
We started off the morning with dark hot chocolate and dove into our stockings (ps: stockings are the best)!
After that, we proceeded to unwrapping gifts. We were showered with generosity once again. We all received many wonderful gifts, especially Lucy, who made out like a bandit!
After gift-unwrapping, we needed to refuel, so it was breakfast time. I really need to make this quiche more throughout the year. It's so yummy!
It was so nice to hang out all day and then feast on a ("Thanksgiving") turkey dinner.
Another awesome Christmas in the books! I can't wait until next year!
