3 months!

Dear Lucy,

Hey, gorgeous lady! You're 3 months old today!

The concept of time gets sketchier as we get older, but this is really crazy. On one hand I can't believe 3 months have already passed, and on the other hand you're such an enormous part of our lives that I can't believe you've been with us for just 3 short months.

You're growing and changing so much these days! You're such a big girl- you're able to hold your head up now! Which means we can carry you without having to hold your head all the time, tummy time is more fun (even though you're still not a big fan),

and you can sit in your bumbo chair. You're still not so sure about it, but you'll get the hang of this sitting up thing, don't worry. :)

You're learning how to use your hands. You grab for the animals that hang down from your play mat, and you're starting to put things up to your mouth. Mostly the aforementioned animals, and your hands. Sometimes both.

We bought a new bathtub, so you have more room to splash around now, and boy do you ever splash. You love the water. You smile from ear to ear and kick your legs around- all in all you LOVE bath time!

You seem like you're trying to roll over on your side. Either that, or you just happen to roll over to one side while you're on your mat. Unfortunately, you don't like when this happens, because you end up getting stuck, and then you get frustrated. This kind of puts a damper on your mat play time, but hopefully we can help you learn how to roll back over onto your back so that you can continue playing with your animal friends.

You're still as alert as ever. We've been going for walks in the evenings (Daddy walks Dakota and I carry you in the Baby Bjorn) and some mornings, too, and you seem to really enjoy being out and about. You look around at everything...

and sometimes you even doze off. Guess that thing is more comfy than it looks. ;)

Speaking of dozing off, you've even fallen asleep while playing on your mat. I know- playing can take a lot out of a person!

You're actually a really good sleeper overall, from what we can gather from hearing about other babies your age. Your naps during the day are spotty and vary in time, length, and frequency, but at night you eat "dinner" between 6:00 and 7:00pm and usually sleep straight through until your "midnight snack" between 11:00pm and midnight and then you usually sleep for about 6 hours. (Thank you for that, by the way!)

Looking forward to what the next month will bring. We love you!
