18 months!
Dear Lucy,
Whoa, you're a year and a half old today! So big!
This month has gone by so fast, what with all the holiday goings on and all. We've been going to our mommy & me class, Gymboree, and having holiday fun in between- had an awesome Thanksgiving at Bregan's house, and even met Santa!
Your favorite things at the moment are climbing on playground equipment, Gymboree apparatuses, and yes, our rocking chair; playing with the tube of face cream while you have your diaper changed; and snacking on pretzels at every chance you get.
You are becoming more and more communicative. You can understand what we ask or tell you, and sometimes we can understand you, too. :) You are still super chatty, and surprise us with new "real" words almost daily! It really does amaze us, how much you pick up. It makes me wonder what else you have stored up there in your brain!
Your favorite foods at the moment (besides pretzels) are fruits of all kinds, and macaroni and cheese. You've become more picky with your finger foods lately, but these things have remained constant. Gone are the days of you eating pretty much everything. I've heard that this is all part of being a toddler, and it seems to be true with you. We're rolling with it and are always trying to come up with new foods for you to try. We went to a party the other weekend and you were all over cherry tomatoes and jicama sticks!
We got some for you to have at home, but you didn't seem to like them as much. I guess party food really is more fun. Oh well, we will keep trying! On the other hand, you've been drinking more milk in the past few days, even asking for it sometimes. We've gotten into a routine where you have some milk when you wake up in the morning and after your morning nap, as well as while I make your lunch, so you've come to expect it at these times. How much you drink varies, but any milk you willingly drink from your cup makes us happy!
You have a little bit of a recurring rash on your forehead, that we can't seem to pinpoint the origin of. It flares up at times, then goes down, up, down. I've seen you scratch at it a little a few times, but for the most part it doesn't seem to bother you. You have a check-up with Dr. Fang next week, so we'll have her look at it. Other than that and a bout of diaper rash, you're doing great. :)
You are so much fun, and we think you're really going to enjoy Christmas this year. I know we're looking forward to spending it with you!
You have the best smiles, giggles, and laughs we've ever been around, and give the best kisses and hugs ever. We love you so, so much!
