Happy 4th of July!
We spent the morning in the kitchen, preparing food to take to a BBQ later in the afternoon. As always, Lucy was a most enthusiastic assistant. First, we made a corn and black bean salad.
And then we baked a batch of brownies.
There was also some Zingo, followed by a trip to the park. All before lunchtime!
After lunch and nap, we headed over to our friends, Kelly and Chris's house for a poolside BBQ at their complex. Lucy, who is now obsessed with swimming, couldn't wait to get into the pool with Daddy!
After some pool time, we had dinner.
And dessert.
And some more (feet-in-the-pool) time for Lucy, Gabby, and Dylan.
And then it was time to watch some fireworks! Chris bought some fireworks to set off. The kids were fascinated.
The grown-ups enjoyed them, too.
The kids, Lucy included, even set off some of those little poppers. They had so much fun!
It was so nice to spend the holiday with such good friends. Once again, I am filled with nothing but gratitude to have friends like Kelly & Chris, Marie and Ken - and their families - in our lives.
I can't think of a better way to spend the 4th. We had the best time!
